Gifts with a Personality

This site is dedicated to the Men of my life

I knew a young man who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the ripe old age of seventeen.  He endured several surgeries, multiple types of radiation and chemo therapy and suffered through numerous ups and downs.  He turned out to be quite the advocate for “pediatric brain tumors” which involved his participation in the Johns Hopkins Department of Pediatric Neurology under the fellowship of Dr. Ben Carson.  He lost his battle with this tumor in February 1995 at the age of 21. He left a devastated family which included his father who adored him, two very proud and strong brothers, a stepfather who admired his strength and determination and his mom who will forever miss his wit, his sense of humor, his dedication to others, his strong sense of family and his never-ending love of God.

Justin was my son and I would love to carry on his legacy and need to help other children that have the unfortunate fate of living with brain tumors.  I would love for the celebration of life to continue as was his wish.

I have been blessed with wonderful children. Justin is now my heavenly angel. Johnny D and Surfer Jo are my true gems.  They have managed to transition through all pre-adult stages with relative ease. Both have proven to be quite adventurous.  John has educated himself in several uniquely different trades and is our family environmentalist.  His travels have taken him to places I have never dreamed of visiting.  He himself is self employed.  Joey surprised the whole family by moving to Hawaii to fulfill his dreams.  A trained and experienced Medical Assistant and EMT with an interest in operating room techniques and emergency medicine, he manages to work the graveyard shift thus leaving his day open for surfing and other island activities. They are adoring sons, true friends and always full of encouragement.

DB is a true find. Not only did he meet and marry me with a ready-made family, he assumed the role of head of the house.  Danny has supported, advised, raised and loved our “three amigos”.  He allows me the room I need to exercise my creative ideas.  Although he will sometimes try to deter me from expensive and time consuming projects, he almost always learns to accept my visions and adds his support to my endeavors. A retired county employee, he now spends his spare time at the golf course, where he not only plays whenever he can, but actually works a couple of days a week in order to feed his golf habit.

We all memorialize Justin with our support of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Dee-Lite-Full-Baskets proudly contributes a portion of its profits in his memory.
